The NBA Rising Stars Game takes place on Friday night in Cleveland to kick off the All-Star Weekend festivities and Golden State Warriors rookie Jonathan Kuminga will be getting his chance to shine after previously being snubbed.

Per Shams, Kuminga is replacing Indiana Pacers rookie Chris Duarte on the Team Gary Payton.

This will be a good chance for the Warriors' lottery pick to show what he can do on the big stage. Kuminga hasn't played a lot this season, averaging just 14.3 minutes while putting up 7.9 points and 2.8 rebounds per night. But, the Congo native has been playing extremely well lately, scoring at least 10 points in each of his last seven games. He's also been given a lot heavier minutes during that span, playing 28 the other night in a loss to the Clippers.

Joining Kuminga is on Team Payton is a boatload of intriguing youngsters including LaMelo Ball, Scottie Barnes, Ayo Dosunmu, and Davion Mitchell, among others. It's definitely a shame Duarte isn't able to suit up, but Warriors fans will be absolutely thrilled to see what Kuminga can do in this game. Given his current hot streak for Golden State, we're expecting the rookie to show out and put the NBA on notice because he's definitely not short on confidence at the moment.
