When it comes to Golden State Warriors superstar point guard Stephen Curry's performance on Saturday afternoon against the L.A. Clippers, he simply was a man on a mission and could not be stopped. Not only did he score a season-high 45 points in the Warriors' 121-105 beatdown of the injury-ravaged Clippers, he did it without having to step foot on the floor in the fourth quarter.
In his fourth contest back after he missed his previous 11 games with a badly sprained right ankle, Curry stepped up immensely against the Clippers in a game with superstar forward Kevin Durant inactive due to a right calf strain.
“Honestly, I always feel like I'm hot,” Curry said after the game. “If you step foot on the floor and don't have that confidence, and that's not who I am. When I'm out there playing, every shot you take you feel like it's going in.”

As far as Curry's dominance, the two-time NBA Most Valuable Player finished with 45 points on 11-of-21 shots from the floor and a nearly-perfect 15-of-16 from the charity stripe.
“I knew right away, when I got free for a couple of threes in the first quarter and they went down, I got in a rhythm,” Curry said, per Tim Liotta of The Associated Press. “Beyond that, you just keep your head down and keep shooting and stay aggressive.”
Nobody else who played in the game for Golden State scored more than 11 points. The Warriors, who sit alone at the top of the Western Conference standings with a 32-8 record, are now 4-0 since Curry returned and have gone 17-2 since Nov. 27.
