Stephen Curry is arguably the best tough shot maker in the NBA. But even the Golden State Warriors star needs some stability amidst the chaos sometimes.

That's exactly what Warriors head coach Steve Kerr harped on amid Curry's recent struggles to close out games. Steph Curry has inexplicably been held scoreless in three consecutive fourth quarters plus overtime, the latest of which produced their first loss of the young season.

“We’ve always been a team that thrives in chaos, but I think we’re a little too chaotic right now,” said Steve Kerr on Stephen Curry's late-game struggles.

Kerr even held Steph out of the fourth quarter for an extended period in their Thursday night loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, perhaps in a bid to have him fresh for crunch time. But even that didn't work, as the Curry holdout became a talking point after the game with the Warriors failing to extend their lead in the final frame – enough for the Grizzlies to force OT and take the game in the end.

“He played 19 minutes in the first half, which is pretty heavy,” said the Warriors coach. “I felt strongly about getting him rest.”

Stephen Curry himself was vocal, however, to take responsibility for the loss – refusing the blame the rotations or extended rest as the reason the Warriors fell short in the end.

“That’s not why we lost,” Curry said. “I don’t want that to be the narrative of why we didn’t win.”

Despite the underperformance, this will surely just be a blip in yet another MVP-caliber season for Stephen Curry. You can't keep the greatest shooter in NBA history down for too long.
