Matt Barnes believes Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry owes him a smoking session.

The former teammate of the two-time MVP shared an anecdote from his brief time back with the Warriors in 2017, when he asked Curry if he would smoke [marijuana] if they won the title. Curry shook his head:

Shaking his head usually means a “no,” but apparently Barnes took that as a yes and now believes Curry has to light up the next time they meet in private.

Barnes hasn't been shy about his use of marijuana, being as forthcoming as it gets since the end of his playing career, walking into the sunset after obtaining that long-eluded title.

Curry did have a cigar celebration after his title run, but he has never appeared to be the drinking or drug-using type during his 11 years in the league.

The All-Star point guard spends a lot of his free time on the golf course or around his wife and kids, which would explain why joints wouldn't be his highest priority.

Barnes and All The Smoke co-host Stephen Jackson, also a former Warrior, have been at the forefront of allowing the use of medical marijuana for athletes, considering the aftereffects aren't as lasting as pain pills and injections — two ways in which muscular injuries are often treated.

It's tough to know if Curry and Barnes will ever get that smoking session in at some point, but Barnes believes debts are owed and it wouldn't be surprising if he winds up asking again just for the sake of it.
