The Chicago White Sox look to be back on track after a brutal start to the season. Injuries to key players like Lucas Giolito, Yoan Moncada and Eloy Jimenez led to an eight-game losing streak. Now, they're riding their first winning streak since April and are creeping up on the Minnesota Twins for the lead in the American League Central.

All it took to get back to being a strong team was a brutal loss to the Los Angeles Angels. According to Alex Shapiro of NBC Sports Chicago, Giolito signed out the loss in which the White Sox came one run short of coming back from a five-run deficit in the ninth inning. It inspired them and showed they still have what it takes to be a good team.

“We collectively as a group were like, ‘Enough of this. We could play such better baseball,’” Giolito said. “We know how to string hits together, we know how to play clean defense.”

Despite the loss, Giolito noticed higher energy from the team with increased focus on execution from that point forward.

“We just keep it rolling from there,” Giolito said.

With Giolito back in business, Dylan Cease and Michael Kopech carving up lineups with ease and Tim Anderson and Andrew Vaughn mashing, the White Sox have the talent to compete at a high level. They also boast Luis Robert, Jose Abreu and a promising bullpen headlined by Liam Hendriks.

Chicago will have a tough time competing against a Twins team that is stacked with talent. However, the White Sox will also be a formidable foe once they get healthier.
