After officially turning on Sami Zayn in Montreal and watching him take a pretty serious beating from Bronson Reed backstage, Chad Gable assembled the Alpha Academy in the middle of the ring to explain why he decided to upset Charles Barkley and turn heel on the “Underdog from the Underground.”

Would Gable reveal that there was actually some legitimate reason for his actions? Or would he instead let fans know that he simply didn't care what they thought, as he's done worrying about what fans think? *spoiler alert* it's the latter.

“Now after what happened to Sami backstage, it's safe to say he's had a rough couple weeks, right? Hey, no no, look, at least what I did to Sami was justified, alright? Let me paint the picture for you, capacity crowd in Montreal, Intercontinental Championship match, Chad Gable versus hometown hero Sami Zayn. Now we tear the house down, and Sami walks out as Champion. I mean, it's a great story, right? And one that I could even accept even if I didn't want to but Sami, it wasn't good enough for him,” Chad Gable told the crowd in Columbus, Ohio.

“No, he had to rub it in, he found me weeping in the back corner of the ring, and he placed that championship right in front of my face. But I took it on the chin, I showed class, I got up, I raised his hand right in the middle of the ring and gave him his moment, but even that wasn't enough. So what'd he do, he found his wife in the front row and brought that Championship down to celebrate with her when he knew I was standing right there; he knew that was my moment! It should have been me on WrestleMania; that should have been me with my daughter celebrating in the front row with my championship. But I was too busy wasting my time training Sami Zayn, I've been wasting my time training a bunch of freankin' losers!”

Oh snap, is Gable turning on the Alpha Academy, potentially ending one of the longest-running factions on the main roster? Needless to say, fans sat up in the seats to see what he had to say.

Chad Gable is done working with losers.

Approaching Akira Tozawa, who was standing on the backline with the rest of his classmates, Chad Gable angrily asked the former Dragongate star about his time in the Alpha Academy, which hasn't been very productive in terms of wins and losses.

“What Tozawa, you got a problem with that, huh? Say something because I got a problem or two myself, Mr. Funny Man; all you do is come out here week after week, you do your little dance, and you rack up loss after loss; it's pathetic! And Maxxine, sweet Miss Maxxine, pretty as a princess, right? But dumb as a box of rocks. I mean, what else do I have to do? I've given you everything and got nothing in return, it's pathetic!” Chad Gable declares.

“And don't even get me started on you: Otis, my prized pupil, my number one guy, you have proven yourself beyond a shadow of a doubt to be the biggest disappointment of them all. Wait, guys, back up a second, hold on, but this right here is why you signed up for the Academy, right? For feedback, honest feedback, to show you how to get better? You can't be upset with me for this, alright? Just get on the same page and know that, from now on, we're going to focus on Gable; we're all going to win my Intercontinental Championship together, and you're going to help me no matter what, right? No, no, I want to hear you say it together, ‘No matter what.' What? Oh, oh, oh, Otis, I didn't hear you: now, Otis, say it!”

After collecting himself, Otis gave his answer.

“No matter what,” Otis said before he hung his head.

Pleased by all of his ducks falling in a row, Gable marched out of the ring with his faction members following reluctantly behind, a sign that the Alpha Academy remains very much still incorporated, even if their business model has clearly changed. While only time will tell what this means for Gable and the future of the faction, with the WWE Draft potentially throwing a wrinkle or two into the situation, considering both the Creed Brothers and Chase U could shake things up in a major way, in the end, it would appear the Montreal heel turn was legit, and Sami Zayn has plenty to worry about moving forward.
