When WWE trimmed the Big 3 down to two and belted up the new tag team of Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill at Backlash, it felt like a natural way to put two of their top stars of the present and future together in order to make them feel like legitimate players on the main roster without the fear of pitting them against each other one-on-one.

No, on paper, the idea of belting up Cargill to protect her from being exposed as a singles challenger versus the top solo stars in a promotion is nothing new, as AEW did the exact same thing with the TBS Championship but in this case, the effort is all the more intriguing because “That B**ch” now only has to do half of the work in any given match in order to receive the same amount of glory.

And yet, unless the promotion wants to book another Roman Reigns-style endless title reign, with no clear succession plan identified when his run began, WWE has to know where they want to take this storyline, right? Well, in the opinion of WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray on Busted Open Radio, he isn't so sure, as he feels as though the duo were thrown together for obvious reasons, but the promotion has no clear idea of where to go with the storyline into the future.

“I don't think that the WWE has Bianca and Jade together because they have true plans for them as a team, despite them being the Women's Tag Team Champions right now. I think this is going to be about the eventual demise of Bianca and Jade; then you're going to have something,” Bully Ray explained on Busted Open Radio via Wrestling Inc.

“Who are you going to put them against? It's beyond just a problem, it's a major problem. You know who I believe would be a credible tag team for Bianca and Jade? Charlotte [Flair] and Becky [Lynch]. Now look at the lengths I just had to go to, to find two names that I think could be credible enough to get heat on Bianca and Jade. Where's this team coming from that's going to be able to get any sympathy on these two women?”

While WWE has a better women's tag team division than in years past, with two legitimate teams, The Unholy Union and Zoey Stark/Shayna Baszler, set to challenge for the belts at Clash at the Castle, in the end, few expect either team to come out on top in Scotland, leading to a match that isn't particularly intriguing. Maybe WWE can have the team implode internally instead of breaking up due to the talent around them, but if that's the plan, either Belair or Cargill would have to take the loss, which probably isn't ideal for either performer heading into the future.

Bianca Belair enjoys teaming with Jade Cargill in WWE.

While Bully Ray may not know where Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill are going as a tag team, the “EST of WWE” told DS of Ring the Belle that she is enjoying her time working alongside the former TBS Champion, operating as a true tag team has been a fun challenge ranging from how to work together to what they should wear for any given show.

“Yeah, it's very interesting. You know, I've always wanted to be very, very hands-on, I've always wanted to be very unique and I've only had to think about myself. So now, when you're with someone else, it's not just affecting them. So I have to try to run ideas by her. But it's really cool because we get to bounce ideas off each other. It's interesting; there are certain colors that I love and certain colors that she doesn't like, and I'm just like, ‘Okay, but I like that color.' Our text thread is just nonstop of us trying to figure out what we want to do. We have so many other ideas that we're just trying to find the perfect time to do it,” Bianca Belair told Ring the Belle via Fightful.

“For Backlash, we were bouncing ideas back around. She loves the latex material. I love gold chains. So that kind of like all came together. For Queen and King of the Ring, I was like, ‘Listen, we have ab, we need to show it off. Let's do this steel ab thing. So we were able to do that together. So it's really cool because I feel like when I come out by myself, it's one thing. But when you have two people coming out in the same thing, it just hits different. It's been fun. It's just a collaborative effort. I'm very, very intense with my designs, and I'm very hands-on, but I am with someone who is equally as yoked as me, and it's very specific. So, it's a good thing. But also, sometimes it's just like, we're indecisive, and it takes forever. I'm probably driving her to your maker crazy because I do everything last minute.”

Now sure, technically, Belair has been part of tag teams before, and she even challenged for the titles twice alongside her then-partner Sasha Banks. Still, this is the first time she's ever actually held the WWE Tag Team Championship in WWE or elsewhere, and it sounds like the “EST” is excited to do her version of the Street Profits alongside one of the top prospects in the WWE Universe.
