The Jacksonville Jaguars have been at the bottom of the league for way too long. It's time this franchise kicks it into gear and performs well. The fanbase is tired of the ownership group, as year in and year out the team remains a bottom feeder. Hopefully, the future changes with Trevor Lawrence leading the way under center. However, he needs more help around him for Jacksonville to be truly competitive. For that reason, we take a look at three potential trade targets for the Jaguars to complete their 2022 roster.

Although the front office was busy throughout free agency and the NFL Draft, Jacksonville didn't quite bring in the talent necessary to make a huge difference. The roster could still use a facelift and some trades could really elevate the Jaguars' chances to compete in the 2022 season.

If the franchise can find a way to add another decent receiver the passing game could open up more for Trevor Lawrence. Additionally, with James Robinson's injury playing a factor, the Jaguars might want to trade for another stud player in the backfield. Lastly, Jacksonville would benefit greatly from acquiring an exciting defensive tackle to help the defense.

With that said, here are three potential trade targets for the Jaguars to round out their 2022 roster.

Jaguars Trade Targets To Complete 2022 Roster

3. Sterling Shepard

The New York Giants have a plethora of wide receivers right now. Kenny Golladay hopefully bounces back, Kadarius Toney is an exciting prospect who flashed in his rookie year, and Wan'Dale Robinson joins the club as a solid pass option as well. Sterling Shepard is in the final year of his contract and could be a nice trade target for the Jaguars.

Shepard has been the most consistent receiver in New York the last few years but injuries plagued his 2021 season. With all of the new faces in the wide receiver room, the Giants may opt to trade him. He'd be a great addition to the Jaguars, as Sterling Shepard would be a strong second option behind Christian Kirk.

2. Kareem Hunt

Similar to New York and their wide receivers, the Cleveland Browns have a plethora of running backs at their disposal. Kareem Hunt is in the final year of his contract as well and could be a nice trade target for the Jaguars. Considering Cleveland has Nick Chubb and D'Ernest Johnson proved to be reliable, they should opt to trade the star running back.

James Robinson's recovery date is right around preseason, but his Achilles injury doesn't guarantee he'll be back at full strength. Additionally, Travis Etienne is coming back from an injury of his own. Kareem Hunt can be a safe option out of the backfield while the youngsters fully recover from their injuries.

1. Daron Payne

There are some exciting players within the Jaguars' front seven, but having a solid defensive tackle would drastically help the defense. Similar to the other two trade targets on this list, Daron Payne is also in the final year of his contract. Payne would bring the pain in Jacksonville, as he'd be a fantastic complement to Josh Allen and Travon Walker.

Payne would bring a great presence to a young defense. He can lock it down within the trenches, helping the Jaguars improve their run-stopping defense. Additionally, he's a solid pass rusher within the interior as well, which is something that has been missing from this team for quite some time. Keep an eye on Daron Payne, as he could become a hot trade option within the league.
