The Jacksonville Jaguars had a lot of trouble during the 2019 season but there is still hope they can turn it around for the 2020 season. There are a lot of decisions that need to be made about the current team including who will be the starting quarterback. That is an important decision, but more importantly could be the decisions that are made during the draft and free agency.

One of the big issues for the Jaguars is their lack of cap space. According to spotrac.com, they are projected to have -$1.49 million in cap space for the 2020 offseason.

The Jaguars will make moves to get more cap space, but the team is going to need to be frugal with their spending. Let's look at three underrated free agents the Jaguars should target.

Greg Olsen

The Jaguars have had a lot of trouble finding tight ends that have much success catching the ball. Since 2012, Jacksonville have only had one wide receiver average two or more catches a game.

Greg Olsen is getting older, but he would be an instant boost to the team. During the 2019 season in 14 games he caught 52 passes for 597 yards and two touchdowns.

Olsen isn't the long-term option for the team, but he would be a great asset for a year or two. It would also be smart for the team to use one of their top couple draft picks on a pass-catching tight end.

Ross Cockrell

The Jaguars' defense was terrible against the run, but another key area the defense needs to improve is with the secondary. With Jalen Ramsey out of the picture, the team needs another cornerback, but this probably isn't an area they can break the bank on.

Ross Cockrell isn't a name that is going to make headlines, but he was solid during the 2019 season for the Carolina Panthers. He had two interceptions and eight pass deflections.

Mario Addison

Mario Addison would be a great addition for the front part of the defense, and his price tag shouldn't be too high. He is 33 years old but has still been productive. Over the last four years he has 39 sacks, and this would be another great short term fix.

The team needs to be investing draft picks into these positions for the long term solution, but for the next season or two, Addison would be a great addition.

If the Jaguars can get all three of these players, it's a good first step getting ready for next season.
