The verdict is in: Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis' bold social experiment — to list their guesthouse in Santa Barbara for rent on Airbnb — has taken place and the famous couple is declaring it a triumphant success. So never accuse these two of not being stars of the people… they've bonded with three total strangers for an entire 24 hours!

Kutcher and Kunis took to Instagram to regale us with tales of their trailblazing hospitality. Kutcher declared on his page, “Mila’s idea to host on @airbnb was a huge success! Lucas, Katherine and Michael, we loved having you. Please leave a review unless it’s not a good one… #airbnbpartner”

Then, in the accompanying video, the Hollywood power couple answered the question the whole world wanted to hear.

“Why are we doing this?”

Kutcher answered his wife's faux-query: “Okay, well, so a bunch of people online, even our guests, asked why we decided to Airbnb our house. Airbnb is a platform that brings strangers together by encouraging people to connect and create relationships.”

He added, “And we were like, ‘That sounds fun,'” to which Kunis replied, “And then here we are.”

What follows is a profound set of images of the eponymous Lucas, Katherine and Michael having fun along the beautiful Santa Barbara coastal property. Having fun amongst celebrities, amongst the Pacific Ocean, amongst high-end Southern California real estate. Of course, maybe it wasn't completely out of the goodness of their hearts and a desire for social bonding (the ‘airbnbpartner' hashtag suggests an advertising deal, does it not?), but still — Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher survived the night with regular, totally non-Hollywood folk and deserve to be applauded as such.
