There's little doubt that when Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness comes out, it's going to blow everyone's minds. Thanks to several trailers filled to the brim with awesome details and a cast that's shaping to be one of the best Marvel has ever assembled, this Benedict Cumberbatch-starrer has what it takes to change cinema as we know it.
But more than the millions it stands to earn and the praise it will surely receive, the Doctor Strange sequel has a chance to open the door wide open for new characters to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We take a deep dive below into how Marvel's Multiverse of Madness can pave the way for these five to become canon in the MCU.
Agent Venom
During Doctor Strange's last appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home, the multiverse was almost cracked wide open on the MCU, no thanks to Peter Parker botching his spell in the first place. This allowed Tom Hardy's Venom to cross over for a while and leave a sliver of his symbiote behind.

While the plot will most likely introduce Spider-Man's black suit, Marvel can go further by laying the groundwork for Agent Venom. In the comics, Flash Thompson goes on to become a soldier who'll get his legs cut off in battle. The veteran will then pair up with the Venom symbiote and become a black ops agent for the U.S. government.
Although the MCU won't take this exact path, the upcoming events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness can somehow pave the way for Spider-Man's ‘pal' to evolve into his awesome comic counterpart. That, of course, will potentially expand the Spider-Verse to new heights.
Ghost Rider
Way back before the MCU started, Nicholas Cage signed up to play Ghost Rider in 2007 and its subsequent sequel, Spirit of Vengeance, in 2012. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D would use Robbie Reyes, another host of the Ghost Rider, to expand its plot into the supernatural.

And speaking of the supernatural, Marvel can certainly use whatever conclusion it has worked up for the Doctor Strange sequel to delve further into this area of the MCU. They can sprinkle seeds of this foundation into their upcoming projects, and all lead back to the formation of the Midnight Sons, a group of heroes tackling supernatural threats, such as Moon Knight and Ghost Rider.
If Marvel plays its cards right with the Spirit of Vengeance, they can go beyond the usual superhero formula. Cast an unknown actor with tons of charisma for the role and have him let loose with either the Johhny Blaze or Danny Ketch version. This would be possible, as long as the Doctor Strange film opens the door for this possibility.
Deadpool
At this point in time, it's already a given that Ryan Reynold's Deadpool will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And since Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has fanned the massive flame of Fox's X-Men, specifically Patrick Stewart's Professor X, to appear in it, there's no reason the Merc with a Mouth can't join in on the fun as well.

Again, the multiversal aspect of this Doctor Strange film gives Deadpool fans their best chance to see him again. With the hope of mutants being introduced soon, Sam Raimi's first foray into the MCU can somehow lead the fan-favorite home. And this isn't far-fetched because Marvel will surely make Wade Wilson's initial appearances make sense.
With their history and expertise, it will only be a matter of time before the potential seeds in Multiverse of Madness will bear fruit for Deadpool.
Doctor Doom
It's a given that Doctor Doom, one of Marvel's most compelling antagonists in the comics, doesn't exactly have the best history when portrayed on-screen. While Fox's two versions, played by Julian McMahon and Toby Kebbell respectively, managed to capture certain aspects of the Latverian dictator, they still didn't do the esteemed villain any justice.

In the comics, Victor Von Doom is, inarguably, one of Marvel's best characters as he melds both scientific and magic prowess with a character arc unlike no other. With a history spanning decades, Doctor Doom is seen as the MCU's best bet to succeed the likes of Thanos and Loki due to his complex personality and enthralling character arc from the source material. And since Doom is known to dabble in the dark arts, there's really no reason why Marvel can't start the process of introducing him here in Multiverse of Madness.
Miles Morales
The biggest draw that can propel the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the following decades can possibly start with an alternate version of Spider-Man played by Miles Morales. And if Marvel works its magic, the upcoming Doctor Strange film can bust the door wide open for this possible successor to the whole Spider-franchise.

As mentioned earlier, Strange's involvement in No Way Home helps make Morales' transition to the main MCU possible. This, in turn, will give the whole Marvel Universe a new hero that it can build upon long after Peter Parker and the current crop of characters have overstayed their stay.
With Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness set to come out in a matter of weeks, all of the hot takes and rumors revolving around it will be finally put to rest. With the sheer potential it promises for the MCU, it only makes sense to have one or two easter eggs about the characters above.
