Anthony Mackie and Jamie Dornan are set to star in the upcoming Apple heist series 12 12 12, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The heist and thriller series is described as “contemporary international heist.” Apple is close to greenlighting the series which will reunite Mackie and Dornan since their 2019 horror drama feature Synchronic.

The series' title refers to the three timelines: the 12 months it takes to plan a raid to a bank vault under the streets of Zurch, the 12 hours of the heist's actual duration and the 12 days following the event. The show centers on an FBI agent played by Mackie and a career criminal played by Dornan, as they play cat-and-mouse all over Europe.

The series was created and written by Dudi Appleton and Jim Keeble. Both Appleton and Keeble with serve as executive producers with Kari Skogland, who will helm the pilot.

Anonymous Content and Skydance Television will co-produce 12 12 12. Stars Mackie and Dornan will also serve as executive producers alongside Jason Spire. David Ellison of Skydance TV, Dana Goldberg and Matt Thunell will oversee the series for Anonymous and Skydance.

The series is Apple's latest partnership with Skydance after the sci-fi drama series Foundation, the mystery comedy series The Big Door Prize, the upcoming sci-drama series Neuromancer and an as-yet untitled comedy led by Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.

Mackie is best known for his work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. 12 12 12 reunites him with Skogland, who directed the Disney+ series Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which also starred Sebastian Stan. Mackie also stars as John Doe in the Peacock series Twisted Metal. The actor will next be seen reprising his role as the new Cap, Sam Wilson, in the upcoming Marvel Studios film Captain America: New World Order.

Dornan, famously known as Christian Grey from the 50 Shades trilogy of movies, was last seen in in the critically acclaimed series The Tourist. His other credits are 2023's A Haunting in Venice and the Netflix movie Heart of Stone. He was nominated for a BAFTA best leading actor for the series The Fall co-starring Gillian Anderson. Dornan will next be seen in the upcoming Netflix crime-noir series The Undertow.
