Britney Spears' memoir, The Woman in Me, will be narrated by Michelle Williams. But SNL decided to spoof the auditions to narrate it with Chloe Fineman and host Timothée Chalamet on the latest episode.

“Who's saying action?”

Britney Spears The Woman In Me book cover on a television with fans watching her.

“I'm beyond touched that my book, The Woman in Me, hit Number One on the New York Times Best Seller list, to say the least,” Fineman's impression of Spears began. “My audiobook is read by the amazing Michelle Williams, but she wasn't the only one who wanted to read it.

“Here's a peek at some of the other actors who auditioned to read The Woman in Me,” she continued.

A compilation of other “auditions,” including ones from Allison Janney, Julia Fox, Steve-O of Jackass, John Mulaney, and the iconic Kevin James meme follow. Jada Pinkett-Smith, who's there to promote her own memoir, also auditioned.

But the best moment of the SNL sketch had to be Timothée Chalamet (Chloe Fineman) auditioning. Fineman did her signature gawky impression of the actor, who hosted the episode. Chalamet himself appeared in the sketch as well, playing Martin Scorsese. He just collaborated with Scorsese for the Bleu de Chanel ad.

The director is confused about who is saying “action” in the studio. Chalamet sported Scorsese's white hair and glasses in the SNL sketch.

The latest episode of SNL wasn't Chalamet's first hosting rodeo. He previously hosted the show in 2020 and returned this week after the SAG-AFTRA strike concluded. Coming up, he has Wonka coming out. In the film, he plays the titular chocolatier.

Britney Spears' memoir has become a pop culture phenomenon. Even SNL has caught wind of it and was quick to spoof it in some capacity.
