Jordan Peele reportedly met with Marvel Studios regarding one of their future MCU movies. The Oscar-winning filmmaker would be a huge catch for the franchise
Jeff Sneider of The InSneider reported in his latest newsletter that Peele took a meeting with Marvel Studios. While the project remains undisclosed, it appears to be a movie and not a Disney+ series. (In a follow-up post on X, Sneider said that if he gets to 100 subscribers on his newsletter by the morning of June 4, he will “tell all of you what Marvel movie Peele met on.”)
Acclaimed filmmakers like Jordan Peele have worked on MCU movies in the past. Jon Favreau kicked off the franchise by directing Iron Man. The likes of Kenneth Branagh, Joss Whedon, Scott Derrickson, Taika Waititi, Ryan Coogler, Destin Daniel Cretton, Chloé Zhao, Sam Raimi, and Nia DaCosta have all directed movies in the past.
There are several high-profile movies coming up without a director attached. The forthcoming fifth and sixth Avengers movies don't have one nor does the fourth Tom Holland-led Spider-Man movie.
But, at the end of the day, a meeting is a meeting. There is a chance that nothing comes of it and the MCU moves forward without landing Peele. If he does join the franchise, though, that's an exciting prospect.
Who is Jordan Peele?

Jordan Peele is best known as a director, but he got his start as an actor and comedian. He gained notoriety for his role in Fox's sketch comedy, Mad TV. He has also had roles in films such as Little Fockers, Keanu, Storks, Toy Story 4, and Wendall and Wild.
On the small screen, Peele has appeared in episodes of The Mindy Project, Modern Family, Fargo, Rick and Morty, Fargo, Bob's Burgers, and Big Mouth.
Beginning in 2015, he began starring in a Comedy Central sketch comedy series, Key and Peele, with Mad TV co-star Keegan-Michael Key. The series ran from 2012-15 with five seasons and over 50 episodes produced. It was a big hit and even won several Emmy Awards.
Jordan Peele-directed movies
In 2017, Peele made his directorial debut with Get Out. Peele produced, wrote, and directed the horror movie and it immediately took off. After its Sundance premiere, Get Out was released in theaters and was a huge box office hit. The movie grossed over $250 million on a $4.5 million budget.
His next movie, Us, was released in 2019. While the movie had a bigger budget ($20 million), Us was still a big box office hit. It grossed over $250 million worldwide.
Get Out star Daniel Kaluuya reunited with Peele to star in his third movie, Nope. It wasn't as big of a box office hit, grossing a little over $170 million, but featured the likes of Keke Palmer and Steven Yeun.
For his three features, Peele has received four Oscar nominations. Get Out was his most successful movie at the Oscars, receiving three nominations including Best Picture and Best Director for Peele. He ultimately won for Best Original Screenplay.
Additionally, Peele has produced movies such as BlacKkKlansman, Candyman, Wendall and Wild, and Monkey Man.
The MCU
Since 2008, the MCU has been one of the biggest franchises in Hollywood. Iron Man kicked off the series in 2008.
Coming up, the MCU has just one movie coming out in 2024. That is Deadpool and Wolverine. The Shawn Levy-directed movie unites Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine.
