In a recent interview, star Tom Hardy shared some thrilling insights about the film and teased a potential Spider-Man crossover that has fans buzzing, Forbes reports.
A Grand Finale for Venom
Tom Hardy, who has portrayed Eddie Brock in the Venom series, expressed his enthusiasm for “Venom: The Last Dance” during an interview about his other upcoming film, “The Bikeriders,” set to hit theaters on June 21. Hardy, now 46, revealed, “This one – I’m so, so excited about because we’ve gone much bigger.” The actor continues to bring to life the character of Eddie Brock, a struggling reporter who becomes bonded with an alien entity. Together, they navigate the challenges of working as a team while often clashing over their methods to combat evil forces.
Produced by Columbia Pictures in association with Marvel, “Venom: The Last Dance” is scheduled for theatrical release on October 25, 2024. Hardy elaborated on the development of the trilogy, saying, “Kelly [Marcel] and I have been working with Tom Rothman and Sanford [Panitch] and their Sony team for 7-8 years now. We started off – like initially, [Venom] was just Eddie Brock and nobody knew what we were going to do. Then the second [film, Venom: Let There Be Carnage] – we wrote the second one, we pitched it, got to direct it, put the team together on that – that was huge! That was a huge university of learning.”
This evolution from a standalone character to a pivotal figure in Sony's Marvel Universe showcases the growth and ambition of the series. Hardy emphasized the collaborative effort behind the scenes, highlighting Kelly Marcel's role in writing and directing the final chapter. “By the third one now, Kelly is directing it, she’s writing – I’m attached to it at the hip and shoulder, like whatever you need, we’ll figure it out,” Hardy noted.

When asked about this possibility, Hardy shared, “People were going to judge us, you know? Marvel Universe under [Kevin] Feige’s management is doing so well. Spider-Man has gone to Feige’s camp at Marvel. We have one [at Sony]! To me and Kelly, it’s so important to pour in everything that we can to build on that opportunity.”
