The holiday sales, pricing, and various promotions across the board have boosted consumers purchasing the round albums.
That number makes this the third-largest week in the modern era since 1991, when Luminate started tracking sales.
Before this massive week, the week of December 23, 2021, had 2.115 million sales, then December 22, 2022, bringing in 2.232 million.
As for who reigns supreme, Taylor Swift came in first place with sales of 1989. The pop star sold 57,000 copies. Additionally, she had the top four-selling vinyl albums of the week. These include Midnights, Lover, and Speak Now.

According to NME, vinyl sales are up nearly 15% in 2023. Along with Swift, Blur, Kylie Minogue, and Lana Del Rey are other top sellers.

Obviously, vinyl records still pack a punch. Whether it be the album covers, the way they sound, or just the sheer joy of owning physical media, it looks like the medium is here to stay.
