With Fast X ending on a cliffhanger, there have been plenty of questions about what Fast and Furious 11 has in store for Dominic Toretto and what remains of his family in what will reportedly be the final film in the Fast Saga. Vin Diesel hasn't provided answers, but he has given audiences a first look at the next installment with concept art teasing a snowy locale.
Racing Through The Snow
Diesel posted the concept art to his Instagram, via ScreenRant, showing what appears to be a black 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS sporting black and red race stripes driving through a snowy, almost mountainous vista. The actor shared the art while the team was “location scouting in Europe for Riddick,” though he provided no other context other than teasing the “American road trip” to come.
Most fans immediately assumed the art was for one of Dominc Toretto's cars in Fast and Furious 11, as the character's vehicle of choice across the franchise has been muscle cars from the late 60s and early 70s.
What had more fans puzzled, though, was the location teased in the art and what Diesel could be hinting at for the next film in the franchise. The location teased in the concept art immediately had some fans and outlets thinking that it could be hinting at a rescue mission Dom is going to undertake in order to rescue Letty and, inadvertently, Cipher from the facility they were being held in at the end of Fast X.
Letty and Cipher were both captured over the course of Fast X and were being held at an Agency blacksite later revealed to be located in Antarctica. Shortly after escaping the facility, the pair were then greeted by a submarine and Gisele Yashar, who was presumed dead after the events of Fast and Furious 6 and was seemingly there to rescue Letty and Cipher.
A Fast Future
Even with few details about it, Fast and Furious 11 is shaping up into what looks to be a grand sendoff to the Fast Saga that began with 2001's The Fast and The Furious. Diesel has hinted the film will take the saga “back to its roots,” though it isn't clear what that means or who else will be appearing in it.
It doesn't mean the end of the Fast and Furious franchise, though, as several other films are reportedly in development at Universal, including a standalone spinoff from the writer of Fast X.
Additionally, Dwayne Johnson is set to return to the franchise but not for the next film in the mainline series. He will instead star alongside Jason Momoa in Hobbs and Reyes, which is described as a standalone sequel to Fast X meant to “bridge the gap” between the tenth and eleventh films in the mainline series. A direct sequel to Hobbs and Shaw is reportedly still in the works as well, though Johnson said in 2023 plans were postponed to prioritize Hobbs and Reyes.
Fast and Furious 11 is scheduled to release in theaters 2026.
