The Jacksonville Jaguars were able to escape with a 24-21 win on the road against the Houston Texans on Sunday, and wide receiver Christian Kirk got real about how important that win was for the team in its quest to win the AFC South.

“Yeah definitely a great feeling, this was a must-win for us and we prepared like that all week,” Christian Kirk said, via SiriusXM NFL Radio. “And we fought for four quarters. That's a great football team that we played today, and we just made enough plays. I think that was the story today, just making enough plays. It wasn't pretty at times, but found a way to win.”

The Jaguars lost to the San Francisco 49ers by the score of 34-3 a few weeks ago, but have responded with big wins over the last couple of weeks. Kirk admitted that the loss to the 49ers was a wake up call for the team.

“It definitely was a wake up call coming off the bye,” Kirk said, via SiriusXM NFL Radio. “Just didn't feel the sense of urgency from us as a team, and we were able to come back from that, be real harsh critics with ourselves and just find different ways to how we can all be individually better and come together as a team and be the team that we all know we are. And so it was big for us to get a win last week, and another big divisional win this week.”

The Jaguars will host the Cincinnati Bengals next week, and they currently sit at 8-3, holding a two-game lead over the Texans and Indianapolis Colts as a result of the win this week.
