The Jacksonville Jaguars are placing wide receiver Marqise Lee on injured reserve, according to Ian Rapport of NFL Network. Lee suffered a brutal knee injury in the teams third preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons.
The #Jaguars are placing WR Marqise Lee on Injured Reserve, source said, after he suffered ligament damage on that brutal hit to the knee by #Falcons S Damontae Kazee. A tough blow for Lee and the Jags.

The wideout suffered the injury in the first quarter when Falcons defensive back Damontae Kazee put his helmet on Lee's knee.
Marquis Lee injury video: High speed video tough to see. Left leg planted with momentum going forward and high speed impact from apposing player causes knee to go in opposite direction. Not a good outlook. Shocked if no ligament damage. pic.twitter.com/uNAqJuju4q

Lee stayed on the ground holding his knee and everyone knew right away it wasn't going to be good news. The MRI revealed that he suffered ligament damage and now his season is over.
The 26-year-old was re-signed to a four-year deal with the Jaguars this offseason and losing him for the season is a big blow. Jacksonville also signed Donte Moncrief, and he will now step into the number one wide receiver role. In Saturday's preseason game, Moncrief was impressive catching three passes for 63 yards.
The rest of the wide receivers like Dede Westbrook and Keelan Cole are going to be the guys that need to step up. Everyone moves up one spot on the wide receiver depth chart which means their production is also going to have to increase.
The Jaguars also drafted D.J. Chark this offseason in the second round, and he has been impressive throughout the camp. He is going to be expected to take on a significant role now this season. What kind of role he was expected to have before this injury was unclear but there is no question he will now have to be counted on to make a big impact on the offense.
