LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers was one of the thousands that were tuned in to Monday's National Championship Game between Alabama Crimson Tide and the Ohio State Buckeyes. What caught the eye of the four-time NBA champion was the outstanding play of Alabama wide receiver DeVonta Smith.

According to LeBron, Smith's pure talent reminds him of a couple of Indianapolis Colts legends. James took to Twitter to make his claim:

Those are a couple of celebrated names James just dropped there, but based on what we've seen from Smith, the man actually has a point. The Heisman Trophy winner has been Alabama's best player this season, and he's been one of the primary reasons why the first-seeded Crimson Tide remain undefeated in 12 games entering Monday's championship match.

For his part, however, we all know which side LeBron James is rooting for in this one. Having been born and raised in Akron, Ohio, it isn't surprising that James is taking the Buckeyes here.

Alabama crushed Notre Dame, 31-14, in the Rose Bowl in order to book their spot in the National Championship Game. Smith had another noteworthy performance in that contest, catching no less than three touchdown passes from quarterback Mac Jones.

Ohio State, on the other hand, made easy work of Clemson in the Sugar Bowl, 49-28, putting an end to the season and the college career of consensus first overall pick Trevor Lawrence. The Buckeyes' Justin Fields was the quarterback that made headlines in that one, leading Ohio State to victory with a 427-yard performance. Needless to say, LeBron was more than excited about that win.
