Smash Mouth; a Bay-Area-rooted band from the late 90s, recently shamed Kevin Durant for the way he handled his exit from the Golden State Warriors.
The band took to Twitter, asking the new Brooklyn Nets forward to treat Stephen Curry “with a tad more respect” after he announced his decision to sign a four-year max contract with the Nets while the two-time MVP was flying all the way from China to take part on a meeting with Durant and president Bob Myers.

It's been known that the Warriors were expecting Durant to leave and throwing all hands on deck was a last-ditch effort to make Durant potentially remain with the team.
Yet all signs, from his change of residence to his immediate flight to New York to seek his specialist Dr. Martin O'Malley to operate on his injured left Achilles tendon, pointed to his eventual departure.
Curry likely knew he would be making the trip back in vain after promoting his brand, Under Armour, across the globe — yet that is something he'd have to try either way in hopes to exhaust all the options.
Much like his past exit from Oklahoma City, Durant's departure is filled with controversy and many holes to plug to a story that is yet to be fully revealed.
Did Durant have his mind made up from the start? Was this a decision that came down to the last few days or one that he resolved in from long ago?
Only time will tell, just as it did with a recent anecdote of his last day with the Thunder, which was recently put on blast by his former teammate Kendrick Perkins.
