The Baltimore Ravens have drafted Kyle Hamilton with the 14th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. The star safety from the Notre Dame Fighting Irish could be an instant defensive upgrade.

Hamilton is one of the most intriguing prospects in this year's NFL Draft. The 21-year-old has the potential to be the very best player of the 2022 draft class because of his versatility and eye-popping talent. He received interest from teams picking very early in the draft and could become the focal point of the defense if he taps into his potential.

In seven games last season, Hamilton recorded 34 tackles, four passes defended and three interceptions. At 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds, he has the build to play in a lot of different roles and all over the field. He has great instincts and is reliable in coverage as well. In addition to being a strong tackler, Hamilton is the whole package.

The downside to Hamilton is that he isn't incredibly quick in coverage. This may hurt him at the next level and decrease his ability to play a versatile role. Since he is a safety, a position that is very rarely picked high in the NFL Draft, his skills may have been overlooked in the draft process. Still, his talent is legitimate.

Although Hamilton suffered a knee injury in October that ended his season, he could have an immediate and profound impact at the NFL level. As one of the top players picked in the NFL Draft, he will be expected to be great.
