The Green Bay Packers received some questionable looks after they left Day 1 of the NFL Draft without a wide receiver. It didn't take long for the franchise to address the position on Day 2, however. The Packers quickly scooped up the explosive Christian Watson out of North Dakota State with the second pick of the second round, 34th overall. Watson is clearly fired up with where he landed in the NFL Draft, and after waking up on Saturday, he couldn't hide his excitement. Watson fired off a tweet that will have Aaron Rodgers excited to get to work ahead of the 2022 season.
First morning as a Green Bay Packer and I’ve gotta say, it feels pretty damn good! 🧀

Watson let his new fanbase know that he was pumped up to be a Green Bay Packer. He'll have the chance to get some major opportunities as a rookie in the Packers' offense while playing alongside one of the most talented quarterbacks of all time in Rodgers. There may not be a receiver in the draft who was put into a more favorable situation than Watson, who will hope to get off to a strong start and develop a quick rapport with his new quarterback, who happens to be the reigning MVP.
With Davante Adams no longer calling Lambeau Field home, following the blockbuster trade that saw him join the Las Vegas Raiders, wide receiver became a clear need for the Packers in the draft. While they were widely expected to go after one with one of their two first-round picks, they opted to show some patience, landing an outstanding talent in the early second round.
Watson will be competing with the likes of Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb, and Sammy Watkins for snaps in 2022, and could stand to play a big part in the Packers' offense, even as a rookie.
