Sam Darnold has not gotten off to a terrible start to his NFL career, but he has shown some issues that could haunt him throughout his rookie season. Unfortunately for the New York Jets' rookie quarterback, he will have to face off with the Jacksonville Jaguars this week. Jacksonville is known for having one of the most lethal defensive units in the entire NFL.

To say that Jacksonville is looking forward to playing against Darnold would be an understatement. They are licking their chops and can't wait to try to get in the rookies head.

Tashaun Gipson is a safety in the Jaguars' juggernaut defense and opened up about what the team is thinking about heading into the game in an interview with the Associated Press.

“It's a fun time. The scary part about it is he's going against a very experienced secondary, the best in the league. The greatest part about it is if we don't get to him, the D-line will get to him. We're all licking our chops.”

Throughout his first three weeks as a starting NFL quarterback, Darnold has completed 60.2 percent of his pass attempts for 701 yards, three touchdowns, and five interceptions. His tendency to throw lob passes across the field won't help him against the Jaguars' secondary.

Hopefully, the Jets' offensive line will be able to keep Jacksonville away from Darnold. There is a high risk for the young quarterback getting rocked multiple times by the Jaguars' pass rush. Very few offensive lines are capable of holding them back completely.

Darnold has his work cut out for him. Not only are the Jaguars gearing up for another game, they want to prove a point to the rookie quarterback.
