The 2022 NFL Draft is quickly approaching and teams across the league are finalizing their draft boards. It should be a fun-filled weekend, but the rumor mill is swirling with possible trade scenarios. Of course, the Jacksonville Jaguars are involved in these rumors as they have the first overall selection in the upcoming draft.
However, according to Cameron Wolfe, the Jaguars have not received any calls for the number one pick. For that reason, general manager Trent Baalke claims that Jacksonville has, “a lot of players at the top of (the) draft graded similarly.” For now, it's up in the air on who this franchise takes first overall, but we'll find out soon enough.
#Jaguars GM Trent Baalke says nobody's called directly to trade for the No.1 overall pick yet.
Jags appear set to pick at 1. Baalke says w/ a smile "it's a work in progress" in regards to who they will pick. He noted they have a lot of players at top of draft graded similarly.

Although the Jaguars claim they haven't received any calls, the front office might be willing to trade back if a team makes the right offer, per Ian Rapoport. During a guest appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, Rapoport explains how multiple teams within the first 10 picks are looking to trade back. If Jacksonville can get a trade done, they should pull the trigger. If not, we should see them take one of the top pass rushers available.

We could be in for a wild ride in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. There are a ton of elite defensive players and offensive linemen. Additionally, nobody can get a grasp on when the quarterbacks will begin to fly off the board. The Jaguars are in a nice position to make drastic improvements to their roster. Simply by selecting the top available player with each pick, Jacksonville can give themselves a fantastic foundation to continue building upon in the future.
Keep an eye on the Jaguars, as anything can happen in the upcoming NFL Draft.
