Former Dallas Cowboys cornerback Jourdan Lewis is on the move as he is signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Lewis is going to the Jaguars on a three-year deal that is worth $30 million. $20 million is guaranteed for Lewis. The former Michigan Wolverine has spent his entire career with the Cowboys, but he will spend his first season away from Dallas next year.

“The Jaguars are signing Jourdan Lewis, Per The Insiders and Peter Schrager,” Ian Rapoport said on Bluesky. “He becomes the NFL’s highest-paid nickel CB.”

Jourdan Lewis will be making $12.5 million during the first year of his contract.

“He gets 3 years for 30M with 20M fully guaranteed and $12.5M this year in a deal done by David Canter and Ness Mugrabi,” Rapoport added.

Lewis came into the league back in 2017 after being selected with the 92nd overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Lewis was a standout CB back at Michigan in college, and he has been one of the best defensive players that the Cowboys have in recent years.

It has now been eight years since Lewis came to the NFL, and he is leaving the Cowboys for the first time to go play for the Jaguars. Lewis had a lot of impressive seasons in Dallas, and he definitely still has some good years left in him.

This past season was an impressive one for Lewis as he finished the year with 71 total tackles, eight passes defended, one sack, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one interception. He is going to make a big impact on the Jaguars' secondary.

The Jaguars were among the best teams in football not too long ago, but they have fallen off quite a bit during the last couple of seasons. They still have a lot of valuable pieces on their roster, and they are working to get back to being a postseason team. Adding veteran guys like Jourdan Lewis to the team will certainly help the cause.
