Training camp has already begun and Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald still doesn’t have his long-term deal. Donald’s next contract is expected to surpass Von Miller's record deal to be richest in NFL history for a defensive player, so there are probably a bunch of things they still need to iron out with that deal.
While Donald remains unsigned, though, his new Rams teammate, Ndamukong Suh, is still the record-holder for the biggest deal for a DT. But Suh, who got a massive six-year, $114 million deal from the Dolphins back in 2015, realizes that it’s just a matter of time before Donald overtakes his deal. In fact, he believes Donald fully deserves to get paid more than he did.

It’s certainly a generous sentiment from Suh to admit that Donald deserves to get paid more than what he got. It might also be an accurate one. While Suh was a great player with the Lions and earned his massive payday, Donald has been a more productive pass rusher over the course of his career. He’s been an absolute force, racking up 39 sacks over his first 62 games.
That makes the prospect of the two playing together in LA so scary. But with Donald possibly prepared not to play another down on his current deal, they’ll have to hand him his record contract first before they can pair him up with Suh on that potentially dominant D-line.
