New York Giants rookie quarterback Daniel Jones threw five touchdowns on Sunday in his team's wild overtime road victory over the NFC East division rival Washington Redskins at FedEx Field. Jones, 22, became only the third rookie gunslinger with three or more games to throw four-plus touchdowns, per Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.

The 6-foot-5 Jones was a controversial draft pick at the time by the Giants, who used the sixth overall selection to take the unpolished Duke quarterback in the 2019 class last April. While New York was panned for their pick in the spring, since then, Jones has done nothing but impress skeptics and change minds of doubters, throwing 23 total touchdowns in his rookie season (eleven starts).

Jones joins two-time Pro-Bowl quarterback Deshaun Watson of the Houston Texans and Hall of Famer Fran Tarkenton as the only players in NFL history to accomplish the impressive rookie feat.

After the game, Jones and veteran quarterback Eli Manning, a two-time Super Bowl MVP, were spotted partying with teammates at a New Jersey bar, playing flip cup, and enjoying their two-game winning streak, which included the first contest won by the 38-year-old starting for the injured rookie—and had possibly one last hurrah at MetLife Stadium in front of Giants fans against the Miami Dolphins.

Although the Giants will not reach the playoffs this year, their division title winner could be an NFC East team that finishes at 8-8—fans have to be impressed with the future of Jones under center.
