New York Giants safety Jabrill Peppers has been fined by the NFL for his hit on Washington Football Team quarterback Kyle Allen during Week 9, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

Peppers has been fined $11,031. Allen, who suffered a dislocated ankle and fracture that required surgery, will miss the rest of the 2020 season.

Peppers told Giants reporters he didn't mean to injure Allen.

“I definitely didn’t mean for that to happen,” Jabrill Peppers said of his hit on Kyle Allen, via Pro Football Talk. “I didn’t intentionally try to leg whip him, or whatever the penalty was. I was just trying to play hard and get him on the ground.”

Washington will start Alex Smith for the rest of the 2020 season. Meanwhile, Peppers will see his bank account decrease, though he's certainly not hurting for money. The Giants defender is making $1,875,271 this season.

The Giants have two wins on the campaign. Both of them have come against Washington. New York will face the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 10. The Giants lost to the Eagles in Week 7 by a final score of 22-21.

Peppers, who was acquired by the Giants from the Cleveland Browns in the blockbuster Odell Beckham Jr. trade, has 29 solo tackles on the season and one interception. He's also returned six punts for 75 yards.

The Eagles are favored to defeat New York in Week 10, but since the NFC East has been so putrid this season, anything can happen.
