After the Las Vegas Raiders hired Klint Kubiak as their new head coach, the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks have an opening at offensive coordinator. They have started the search and are speaking to a Cardinals pass game specialist about the Seahawks offensive coordinator position, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.
“The Seahawks will interview #AZCardinals pass game specialist Conner Senger for their offensive coordinator position, source said. At 30, Senger interviewed for the #Bears OC position recently, as well as other QB coach jobs. Arizona plans to retain Senger if possible,” Rapoport wrote on X.
The Seahawks are the Super Bowl champions and will need a new offensive coordinator as they attempt to defend their title. In Kubiak's only season with the Hawks, the team ranked eighth in the NFL in total offense. Additionally, the team ranked ninth in passing yards per game and 10th in passing yards per game.
While the Seahawks might target an internal hire, they are still examining all their options. Last season, the Cards ranked fifth in passing, being one of the lone bright spots on the only NFC West team that failed to make the playoffs. Senger was able to guide Jacoby Brissett and Kyler Murray all season, as the Cards' offense made some strides, despite a long season.
With the Super Bowl just a week ago, the Hawks can still take their time as they look for their new offensive coordinator. With Darnold returning, the team will have stability at the most important position. Additionally, Jaxon Smith-Njigba will also return. But the team will have to access running back, and Super Bowl MVP, Kenneth Walker, who is set for free agency. For now, the search continues for a new offensive coordinator.
