The Los Angeles Rams were stunned after succumbing to a tightly-contested defeat against the New York Jets in Week 15 proceedings. Despite the loss, Rams head coach Sean McVay lauded that their most recent defeat can “with the right teams” come “at a moment where you can create a sense of urgency that’s required,” via Los Angeles Times.

His confidence in his team never wavered and he remains to be optimistic that the Rams can use the loss as fuel for their coming games. When asked whether the team has that mindset, McVay boldly responded:

“Absolutely,” he said.

The Los Angeles-based squad was haunted by its inconsistent offense once again as quarterback Jared Goff failed to get the most out of his weapons last weekend. Tight end Tyler Higbee already led with 67 yards on four catches and a touchdown while wide receiver Robert Woods contributed 56 yards on six receptions and a score on the endzone.

At the same time, the Rams defense failed to impose their dominance against the Jets where they failed to stop veteran running back Frank Gore in crunch time. His late touchdown eventually lifted the winless Jets to a 23-20 victory against McVay and the Rams.

With the loss, the Rams prolonged their agony as they have yet to clinch a playoff spot. On the other hand, the Jets most likely missed out on the top pick of the 2021 NFL Draft which went the way of the Jacksonville Jaguars due to the win.

The Rams will have another shot at a postseason berth as they face the Seattle Seahawks for a pivotal NFC West divisional showdown in Week 16. Sean McVay is hoping that his men can get it right this time around in order to give themselves a chance to vie for the top spot in the division.
