The Minnesota Timberwolves emerged victorious in their NBA Play-In Tournament matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday night. For a team with just one playoff appearance since 2004-05, the Timberwolves were naturally pretty excited after securing the Western Conference's seventh seed and a berth in the NBA Playoffs. Timberwolves guard Patrick Beverley was not only happy to get the NBA Play-In win, but he was also thrilled that it came at the expense of his former employer, the Clippers. Beverley removed his uniform, ran onto the court and expressed his joy in the moment, drawing the ire of some, who criticized him for what they viewed as excessive celebrating. Inside the NBA analysts Shaquille O'Neal and Charles Barkley, among others in the NBA community, clowned the Timberwolves for their celebration following Tuesday's win.

Shaq and Barkley didn't hold back, serenading the Timberwolves with a rendition of Queen's “We Are The Champions.” Even Ernie Johnson chipped in, saying that was the shortest playoffs the network has ever covered. NBA players also joined the chorus of voices clowning Beverley and the Timberwolves.

Current NBA players Kyle Kuzma and RJ Hampton, and former player Channing Frye, trolled the Timberwolves after their win over the Clippers. Kuzma took the Shaq and Barkley route, poking fun at the championship-like celebration.

In some truly excellent meme work, Frye took inspiration from the Cleveland Cavs' 2016 NBA Finals win, putting Beverley's face on LeBron James' body.

While the Timberwolves are right to celebrate a moment that they have so often been denied in their franchise's history, they may have gone a little overboard in their NBA Play-In celebration, considering they have a tough road ahead against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Clearly, Shaq, Charles Barkley and others thought so.
