Academy Award winner Tommy Lee Jones and James Franco are set to star in the action thriller feature The Razor’s Edge, Deadline exclusively reported.

Demian Lichenstein is attached to direct and Corey Large will produce through his production company 308 Enterprises.

The film will debut at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival’s Marche du Film. Red Sea Media will handle international sales. The movie will star production in Georgia June 25. Lichenstein co-wrote the screenplay with Vance Duplechin.

The Razor’s Edge follows the story of a mob hitman on the verge of retirement. As he is about to leave his past behind, his daughter is kidnapped and a syndicate targets the woman he loves, forcing him to make a seemingly impossible choice. He now has to go on a dangerous final mission while an assassin pursues him.

Large said, “I’m excited that we have signed the superbly talented actors James, Suki and Tommy Lee to bring The Razor’s Edge to the big screen.  They are perfectly suited to embody the protagonists in director Demian’s script. We cannot wait to begin filming this taut thriller next month with an assist from our seasoned executive producer Kirk [Shaw].”

The film’s financier Bond It Capital co-founder CEO Matthew Helderman added, “We’ve worked with Corey on over a dozen projects throughout the years and always appreciate his ability to get projects made in many different industry climates. We’re excited for another adventure here with Corey and his team.”

Oscar nominee Franco was last heard in the 2019 animated film Arctic Dogs. He was last seen in the HBO drama The Deuce, which ran from 2017 to 2019, with three seasons.

He was nominated for an Oscar best actor in the 2010 film 127 Hours. Franco won two Golden Globe awards for best actor in a miniseries or TV film for 2001’s James Dean and best actor in a motion picture musical or comedy for 2017’s The Disaster Artist. He played Harry Osborn in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man films released in 2002, 2004 and 2007.

Jones was last seen in the 2023 drama feature The Burial with Jamie Foxx and the Paramount+ original movie Finestkind. He won his best supporting actor in the 1993 film The Fugitive. The actor is famous for playing the taciturn Agent K in the hit franchise Men in Black films co-starring Will Smith released in 1997, 2002 and 2012.
