It was previously reported that Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James started recruiting Stephen Curry during the All-Star Game back in early March. The rumor understandably went viral and has since prompted a response from Golden State Warriors general manager Bob Myers.

According to Myers, these types of rumors are something that he has grown accustomed to at this point in his tenure with the Dubs. He also believes that these sensational whispers are not unique to a guy like Steph:

“We’re never going to stop hearing it,” Myers said, via Tim Kawakami of The Athletic. “It doesn’t matter if a guy signs an extension anymore, whether it’s one of our guys or any guy. The drumbeat never stops. … I think rumors like that or any rumor about a great player, they’ll always be there as long as the player’s great.”

Myers then went on to say that while he acknowledges the rumors, he believes that Curry isn't going anywhere anytime soon:

“But all we can do is make our place of work somewhere people show up and feel like they can compete. I think Steph’s felt like we’ve given him a really good chance in his time and career to compete individually and team-wise. And that’s what we’re going to keep trying to do. … What I would say: I think Steph’s happy. I think he’s in a good place. I think things are going to be fine with him.”

Curry is the personification of Dub Nation and for most, it would be unthinkable to see him playing for any other team. However, as Myers said above, the whispers just won't stop.

Steph has played his entire 12-year career in Golden State, and he is one of a few players remaining in the league that has proven his unwavering loyalty to his team. Nevertheless, who wouldn't, at the very least, consider playing with a generational talent in LeBron James?

Myers' statement here about Curry's future with the Warriors does not hold an unequivocal tone as well, which may lead some to believe that it might be open to interpretation. Then again, we could be reading too much into it as well.

For what it's worth, Curry's current deal expires at the end of next season. If he does not sign an extension with the Warriors, the greatest shooter of all time is going to be a free agent.
