Jon Gruden recently resigned as head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders because of emails that turned up in the investigation into the Washington Football Team. Some of that correspondence involved former Washington executive Bruce Allen, who also was the recipient of a controversial email from ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Now more emails are being leaked that involve Allen. The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal are reporting a cozy relationship between the former Washington exec and NFL general counsel Jeff Pash.

Via ESPN:

The emails between Pash and Allen show Pash reassuring Allen on controversies involving the Washington franchise and discussing league issues and other topics, including politics.

Allen was in touch with Pash about the sexual harassment allegations involving cheerleaders, with the lawyer telling the executive this: “I know that you are on it and would not condone something untoward.”

Of course, part of the Gruden scandal featured emails between the former coach, Allen and other men that included a photo of topless Washington cheerleaders.

Allen also apparently complained about the Rooney Rule and the hiring of a Black woman to be the NFL's top lobbyist after she had worked for several Democratic senators.

The NFL is denying any wrongdoing in these emails:

“Communication between league office employees and club executives occurs on a daily basis,” Miller said in a statement issued to both the Times and the Journal. “Jeff Pash is a respected and high-character NFL executive. Any effort to portray these emails as inappropriate is either misleading or patently false.”

The investigation into the Washington franchise was completed in the summer, with the team getting hit with a $10 million fine. Tanya Snyder took over day-to-day duties of the franchise from her husband, Dan. Top execs were also ordered to do workplace conduct training.

After the Gruden fiasco, many want to see the full results of the Washington investigation. There has been resistance to that, but there's clearly still a drip of leaks coming from it. We'll see what's next.
