The Field of Dreams game between the Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees lived up to and exceeded all expectations.
The Bronx Bombers put up a 4 spot in the top of the 9th inning to take an 8-7 lead and then in the bottom of the inning, the table was set for White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson. He connected on a walk-off, two-run home run to catapult Chicago to a 9-8 victory. And believe it or not, he predicted the home run before the game.

While he didn't predict a walk-off home run, Anderson did say in the clip he would put one in the corn on the first pitch. His walk-off against Yankees reliever Zack Britton, came on the first pitch.
It put a bow on an incredible show and a picture perfect evening for MLB. The White Sox won the game but that seemed to hardly matter given all hyped up reaction about the event itself.
MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said on Thursday that there would be another game at the site in Dyersville, Iowa in 2022 as well. And why wouldn't there be? It literally couldn't have gone any better if Manfred laid out his own script.
Anderson predicting a first pitch home run and then delivering in walk-off fashion is an appropriate final chapter to what was an incredible game at an incredible location on Thursday. The White Sox star called his shot, and stepped up.
