After watching The Miz earn fantastic reviews for his special interview with “John Cena” on RAW, LA Knight was finally afforded a chance to speak on his Payback opponent and shoot on a man who really wants to but can't seem to get out of his own way in the pursuit of championship gold.
Taking the ring before his opponent, Austin Theory, LA Knight let it be known that The Miz just isn't on his level.
“Let me talk to ya! I don't know if everybody got a chance to see The Miz's scintillating performance on RAW, but let's go ahead and dissect that for a second. How's that song of his go? I came to play, right? Now if I was a complete moron, I'd say ‘Let's look at that adjective.' But I'm not a moron, so I'm gonna say let's look at that verb, ‘play.'” LA Knight said to the crowd in Boston.
“I didn't come here to play, Miz. So I tell you what, I came here to walk straight to the d*mn top, and anybody who stands in my way, brother you already got a little taste of it, but here you are, man. What, one week you play dress-up. The next week, you play make believe with an invisible John Cena. And you whine and cry, and you say ‘oh no, LA Knight won because of John Cena.' Right? Nah nah, here's the deal: I didn't ask for John Cena, I didn't need John Cena, as a matter of fact, I didn't even need John Cena's endorsement. I've endorsed myself to stand right here. I got all of the respect in the world for everything John Cena's accomplished. But at the end of the day, he did count the three, so Miz, that can chap your keister all you need, it's a bitter pill to swallow, but swallow it you most certainly will. But if you wanna be a cockroach that hangs out and just needs to be stomped out one more time, then Miz, I'll tell you what, consider your challenge-“
Unfortunately for LA Knight, his promo was cut short, as none other than Grayson Waller and Theory, a team nicknamed A-Town Down Under on the show, made their way out to the ring to cause some trouble for the Superstar many believe is about to become the top babyface on SmackDown.
LA Knight keeps making enemies during his run on SmackDown.
After watching the “Megastar” jabber on before his match, Grayson Waller, mic in hand, let LA Knight know he just isn't into what Austin Theory's soon-to-be foe was putting down.
“Hold on La Knight, okay? Are you really sure that's a good idea? After The Miz ran through John Cena Monday night on RAW, it's almost like he wasn't even there. So before you get ahead of yourself and accept this challenge, me and my associate Austin Theory, we were backstage talking, and, actually you know what? This is way more fun if I bring him out here to say it,” Grayson Waller said on SmackDown.
“See, last week, I thought that Austin had one of the biggest victories in SmackDown history. We beat Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio and his stepson Santos. In fact, that means we're the only tag team on the roster who's undefeated and, realistically, the greatest tag team of all time if we decide to be, right?”
After Knight made a joke about the tag team being very popular, Theory cut in too, letting the “Megastar” know he just isn't a fan of what he brings to the table.
“Let me talk to ya. Who's the referee that helped LA Knight beat The Miz? Oh, that's right, the greatest of all time, John Cena,” Austin Theory added. “The man that I beat, yeah. And who's this? LA Knight, the ‘Megastar?' Who I actually already beat as well! And Grayson, let me ask you, at only 26 years old, already have became a two-time United States Champion, Austin Theory. And then LA Knight, you've, you… You've just been here, yeah. And I'm glad you're here because, soak all this in. Soak in that fifteen minutes of fame, because when I'm done with you, The Miz ain't gonna waste his time.”
With the millennial Statler and Waldorf finished, LA Knight got the last word, informing his foes that it doesn't matter who stands opposite him in the ring, the match is going to end the same way: BFT for the 1-2-3.
“God you guys are cute together. If you're done boring everybody, why don't I show you incels how to do this. Who's this guy to my right? A mush-mouth moron, yeah. Who's this guy to the left? A cross-eyed halfwit, yeah. Well I tell you what, if you two crotch goblins wanna come on up and get served, we can make that happen right now. Cuz TD Garden right here, TD Garden stands on Legends' Way. And in a very legendary way, Austin Theory, at just 26-years old, you can get your keister kicked tonight, with everybody saying, ‘L-A-Knight!' Yeah!”
Is LA Knight ever going to be able to simply enjoy his time as an ascending babyface, or is every performer on the Smackdown roster, and maybe even a few on RAW, going to be vying for his spot? Unfortunately for the “Megastar,” it's probably the latter.
