The Green Bay Packers received a strong and positive confirmation about Micah Parsons’ status this week, as the star pass rusher officially underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL suffered earlier this month.
Parsons was injured during the Dec. 14 matchup against the Denver Broncos, an incident that abruptly ended what had been a productive if turbulent season. Two weeks after the injury, Parsons took the first major step in his recovery, undergoing surgery on his left knee.
The procedure was successful, and the linebacker shared a brief but upbeat update on social media shortly afterward.
“Today went amazing!!! LFG!!” Parsons posted on X, formerly Twitter.

The message signaled the start of what is expected to be a lengthy rehabilitation process. While short, the post reflected optimism following a season that saw Parsons adapt quickly after joining Green Bay and becoming a central piece of its defensive identity.
Parsons appeared in 14 games for the Packers in 2025, recording 41 total tackles, 12.5 sacks, production that closely mirrored his 2024 numbers with the Dallas Cowboys.
The injury, however, means Parsons will miss the postseason entirely, a huge blow for a Packers team that built late-season momentum around its pass rush. The surgery effectively rules him out for the remainder of the year and introduces uncertainty surrounding his availability for the start of the 2026 season.
The next campaign is expected to begin roughly nine months after the successful surgery. While many players return within that window, no definitive timetable has been announced. A clearer picture is expected once post-surgery evaluations and rehab milestones are completed.
For now, Parsons’ focus shifts from game preparation to recovery, while Green Bay must navigate the playoffs without one of its most disruptive defenders. His brief message to fans offered reassurance, but the true test will come over the coming months as he works toward reclaiming his role as a cornerstone of the Packers’ defense heading into 2026.
