Terraria recently announced the 1.4.5 update, as well as a crossover with Dead Cells. This announcement came alongside Dead Cells' Everyone is Here Volume 2 crossover update.

The post on Terraria's community forums starts off by announcing The Guide's arrival in Dead Cells. Afterward, they said that since this is a crossover, Dead Cells content should also be in Terraria. They then announced that Terraria's 1.4.5 was coming in 2023, part of which will include Terraria x Dead Cells content.

They had this to say about the update:

Work on this update will begin in earnest when the team starts work in the new year – and after all of the needed hotfixes for 1.4.4 are completed. What all will Terraria 1.4.5 contain? Well, you will just have to wait and see when the time comes.

We hope this will help to get everyone hyped for the end of the year and what is to come in 2023 (which will also hopefully be the year of Crossplay… cross your fingers)!

Stay tuned for more information in the weeks and months ahead!

As mentioned above, the team will first focus on hotfixes to the 1.4.4 Labor of Love update. Afterward, they will start work on 1.4.5. There is still no news as to what the patch will have. However, they did tease that hopefully, 2023 will welcome Terraria crossplay. Other than that, we have nothing.

While waiting for the Terraria crossover with Dead Cells, why not try out their crossover with Core Keeper? The latest Core Keeper update is also coming soon, so spend time there while waiting for more news about the Terraria update to drop.
