The Bear will have its cable TV premiere on FX, Variety reported.

The multiple Emmy Award-winning series currently streams on Hulu will air season one on its cable network. A special marathon will run starting Sunday, June 2. Every night, two episodes will air from 10 p.m. ET for four nights. The second-to-the-last and finale of season one will conclude the marathon, Wednesday, June 5.

Season one won 10 Emmy awards out of its 13 nominations, including outstanding casting, writing and directing (creator Christopher Storer), comedy series, supporting actor (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), supporting actress (Ayo Edebiri) and lead actor (Jeremy Allen White). The first season premiered in June 2022 and the second last year.

The Bear on cable

The series follows the story of Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto (Allen White), a young chef who takes over his brother's (Jon Bernthal) sandwich shop after his death. His cousin Richie (Moss-Bachrach) and sous chef Sydney (Edebiri) assist him in running the shop.

The show has been a massive success since its debut, dealing with food, family, friendships and grief. The second season picks up where the first ended with the three main characters trying to remake the shop into a fine dining restaurant.

Lionel Boyce, Abby Elliott, Matty Matheson, Oliver Platt and Liza Colón-Zayas also star.

Celebrities such as Olivia Colman, Jamie Lee Curtis, Gillian Jacobs, Donnie Madia, Joel McHale, Alex Moffatt, John Mulaney, Bob Odenkirk, Sarah Paulson, Will Poulter, and Sarah Ramos also made cameos in the second season.

When season two premiered on Hulu, it became FX's most-watched premiere on the streaming platform. Viewing hours increased 70% in its first four days. Shōgun beat that record this year, but the show is also available on Disney+.

FX chief John Landgraf decided in February that The Bear would be able to stay longer in mainstream conversation if the episodes were aired weekly. He explained that since the show can be anxiety-inducing, they intentionally released all of the episodes at once so viewers could get to the end. And the studio doesn't plan to change that.

“When we came back for Season 2, we debated, since we knew now that we had a hit, can we milk it a little bit? Can we roll it out over weeks, more ‘Bear' is better? We then thought that's a rotten thing to do, to change it up for the audience,” he said.

“The way that Chris makes it, even though the episodes are separate, there's a whole vibe to every season so we decided not to change what we had already set in motion and I have no doubt that we'll keep doing it because we did it in the past. Even if we could, I don't think we'd change it now,” Landgraf explained.

More Bear is definitely better.

Season three will premiere on June 27 on Hulu. Edebiri will also make her directorial debut in the third season. Allen White is in talks to play The Boss, Bruce Springsteen, in the upcoming biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere. Moss-Bachrach will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe as he takes on the role of The Thing in the upcoming Fantastic Four film.

The series has also been renewed for a fourth season.
