Eric Kripke, creator of Prime Video's The Boys, has an ending in mind. The hit series has launched spin-offs and has produced four seasons so far. It doesn't appear time to turn off the lights quite yet.

Speaking to Empire, Kripke seemed aware that The Boys has to end eventually. However, he has an ending already in mind for when the time calls for it. It could come at any point so fans will have to brace themselves.

“You can't build a show that's about these two forces of Homelander and Butcher slowly closing in on each other without bringing that to a head,” he told Empire. “Whenever that last episode occurs, I know what happens.”

Irony hasn't been lost on Kripke, though. The Boys has launched a franchise for Prime Video. Gen V is a live-action spin-off of the series while there has also been an animated spin-off, Diabolical. The Boys: Mexico will also be coming up the pike.

“I'm very aware of the ironic position this puts us in,” he said. “I think about it every day, how important it is: even if we're telling more stories in this world, that we don't f**king sell out.”

Season 4 of The Boys is gearing up for its June 13 premiere. The eight-episode season will air every Thursday through July 18.

Eric Kripke created The Boys and is the showrunner of the series. He gained fame for creating Supernatural and serving as the showrunner of the first five seasons. He also created Revolution and Timeless.

Additionally, Kripke has written and directed films. He directed two short films, Battle of the Sexes and Truly Committed, early in his career. Since then, Kripke has written feature films such as Boogeyman, The Adjustment Bureau, and The House with a Clock in Its Walls.

Other cast members include Jessie T. Usher, Chace Crawford, Laz Alonso, and Dominique McElligott (who starred in the first three seasons).

The Boys premiered on July 26, 2019, with all eight episodes being available to stream off rip. A second season was subsequently released the following September. Season 3 followed a similar model after its June 3, 2022 premiere. The Boys Season 3 aired through July 8, 2022.

Now, The Boys Season 4 is getting ready for its June 13, 2024 premiere. It will follow the release model of the previous two seasons and air episodes weekly through July 18, 2024.

Additionally, The Boys has spawned spin-off projects. In March 2022, Prime Video released an animated series, Diabolical. Gen V followed and featured the likes of Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, and the late Chance Perdomo. The Boys: Mexico is also in the works.
