The Pittsburgh Steelers will be under a lot of pressure during the 2025 NFL season. Pittsburgh had an exciting offseason, headlined by adding Aaron Rodgers at quarterback. Now the Steelers are hopeful that Rodgers has one good season left in him during the where he'll turn 42 years old.

Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf believes he played a big part in recruiting Aaron Rodgers to Pittsburgh.

Metcalf explained in a recent interview how a private throwing session with Rodgers in Los Angeles helped create an instant connection between the two players.

“He saw how cerebral I was about the game and saw how hard I worked,” Metcalf said per The Athletic's Michael Silver. “And I think that just gave him an extra nudge to come on over.”

That throwing session took place at the end of March, just weeks after Pittsburgh traded for Metcalf from Seattle.

The Steelers did not stop there. Pittsburgh also pulled off a big trade with Miami back in June. The Steelers acquired tight end Jonnu Smith and cornerback Jalen Ramsey in exchange for safety Minkah Fitzpatrick.

“You don’t go do business with Aaron Rodgers without equipping him with the talent that highlights his skill set,” Tomlin said.

Hopefully the Steelers can make some noise in 2025 after making several aggressive offseason moves.

It looks like it is now or never for the Pittsburgh Steelers ahead of the 2025 NFL season.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin acknowledged the narrative that the team went “all in” this offseason.

“A lot of the narratives are funny to me,” Tomlin said on Wednesday on This is Football. “But I get what people mean. There’s a level of excitement about the talent that we’ve acquired. And it’s a little bit out of character maybe in some instances. So from that stand point it’s exciting, but you’re right we are trying to do it each and every year and 2025 has our attention this year.”

Pittsburgh did more than just adding Rodgers and Metcalf this offseason. The Steelers also signed cornerback Darius Slay in free agency and added some talented players during the 2025 NFL Draft.

They also inked superstar T.J. Watt to a huge contract extension worth $41 million per season.

The Steelers have several aging veterans on their roster who will be hungry to win it all in 2025. That alone should be plenty of motivation to get back to the playoffs.

But if the Steelers cannot make a deep playoff run, huge changes could be coming to the organization next offseason.
